Meetings of the Arab work ministers in Sharm El-Sheik in March
Regional, Economics, 2/21/2000

The Arab labor conference will convene its 27th session in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt on March 4 with the participation of the Arab labor ministers and businesswomen's organizations as well as unions from the Arab countries.

These meetings will last for one week.

Ibrahim Qwaider, general manager of the Arab Labor Organization, said that the conference will discuss many topics that concern human development, the labor forces and the laborers' situation in the Arab states in light of the current economic and social changes.

He said the conference will also tackle the role of unions and the private sector in containing the unemployment among youths in the cities and in rural areas, and in projects to employ youths in small and medium-sized projects.

He said it will also address supporting Arab girls' participation in the labor market and providing the proper circumstances for them.
