Mubarak meets with German president
Egypt-Germany, Economics, 2/21/2000

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak received German President Johannes Rau, who arrived in Cairo today on a five-day visit, during which he is escorted by a large number of businessmen and heads of German companies working in the industrial and technological fields.

During the meeting, the two presidents discussed opening new markets for Egyptian exports to the German markets and the markets of the European Union, especially establishing joint cooperation between the private sectors in both countries and the available investment opportunities in the major development project that concern the Egyptian government.

The German and the Egyptian sides are to announce during this visit an agreement for establishing a joint business council aiming at encouraging joint investments and developing the volume of trade exchange between the two countries.
