Finnish Clergy in Damascus
Syria-Finland, Religion, 2/21/2000

Archbishop of the Luther Anglican Church in Finland, Yuko Parma, and members of the accompanying delegation on Saturday visited the Abu al-Nour Islamic center in Damascus.

The visiting clergy toured the center's various departments and listened to explanations made by its director of the role of the center in graduating scholars advocating the values of the divine religions for the welfare and happiness of man.

During his Saturday's meeting with the minister of al-Awqaf ( Islamic Trust) Muhammad Zeyadah, Parma expressed appreciation for his visit which aimed at deepening common dialogue between the Muslims and the Christians, stressing the keen to promote bilateral cooperation relations.

He, on the other hand, reiterated keenness to developing cooperation between the Anglican Church in Finland and the Syrian al-Awqaf Ministry.
