Armenian president winds up a three day visit to Lebanon

Armenian President, Robert Kotcharian, wound up a three-day official visit to Lebanon, where he received a full guard of honor and presidential send-off at Beirut International Airport, the official Lebanese news agency reported.

President Emile Lahoud and First Lady, Referring to the formation of an Israeli "troika" whose purpose is to attack Lebanon, President Lahoud indicated that this would not hinder our option in resisting the occupier and liberating our land. He described the Israeli decision as a flagrant violation of the April Understanding so that the World Community could once more bear witness to Israel's daily aggression.

Earlier, the departing Armenian President met with Prime Minister, Selim Hoss, and a number of leading Armenian representatives in Lebanon. They included Deputies of Parliament, religious leaders and social financial magnets. In his farewell address, the Armenian President spoke highly of bilateral relations and the role of the Armenian Community in strengthening relations between Beirut and Yerivan.

Armenian Foreign Minister, Vartan Askanian, summed up in his speech recent political and economic events in Armenia.
