Mubarak, Ciampi discuss Israel's attacks against Lebanon

President Hosni Mubarak discussed with Italian President Carlo Azeglio Ciampi the difficulties facing the peace process such as deterioration of the situation on the Lebanese front after the latest Israeli attacks.

They also tackled the situation in the Mediterranean, cooperation among Mediterranean countries and the Egyptian-European partnership agreement through the effective and influential role of Italy in the European Union.

The two leaders devoted much time in their talks to friendly bilateral relations and ways of developing them mainly in the economic cooperation field, trade exchange, expanding investment vistas, consolidating relations in the fields of technology transfer and tourism.

Talks also tackled economic relations, the increased volume of trade between Egypt and Italy as well as active Italian investments in Egypt.
