Moroccan foreign minister meets WTO chief in Bangkok

The possibility of setting up in Morocco a training and information center for African countries on issues related to world trade, globalization and relations with the World Trade Organization (WTO) was discussed at a meeting in Bangkok Wednesday between Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Mohamed Benaissa and WTO Director General Mike Moore.

The WTO chief lauded the key role played by Morocco in economic multilateral fora and within the WTO.

Benaissa, who officially invited Moore to visit Morocco in the course of the current year, voiced backing to Moore's efforts geared towards reaching consensus on the future multilateral commercial negotiations.

The Moroccan foreign affairs minister who is attending the 10th session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD X) currently under way in the Thai capital, held another meeting with Polish secretary of state for economic affairs, Bernard Blaszczyk on means to upgrade bilateral cooperation.
