Kuwait renews backing to Morocco's World Cup bid
Morocco-Kuwait, Sports, 2/16/2000

Kuwait renewed backing to Morocco's bid to host the 2006 World Cup. Kuwait will spare no effort to help Morocco win the bid to stage the planetary competition, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Fahd, president of the Kuwaiti Football Federation and of the Kuwaiti Olympic Committee, said at a meeting with visiting Moroccan Youth and Sports Minister Ahmed Moussaoui.

Morocco is competing with South Africa, Brazil, England and Germany to host the World Cup. FIFA will choose next July the host country.

During his stay in Kuwait, Moussaoui handed Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, a message from King Mohammed VI.

The message dealt with bilateral relations, Kuwaiti news agency, KUNA, said.

Kuwait was the last leg of a tour that led the Moroccan official to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
