Middle East businessmen's councils start work in Cairo

Meetings of the businessmen's councils in the Middle East started yesterday in Cairo with the participation of nearly 200 international economic personalities from representatives of international corporations as well as the businessmen in the area.
Mohammed Shafik, an Egyptian businessmen and secretary general of the conference, said the meetings will discuss over the course of three days the investment opportunities in the area, the investment incentives presented by the areas' countries, the obstacles confronting the economies of the Middle East in an international economy and means of presenting support for the promising markets in the area topped by Egypt.
Shafik said the council's main headquarters is in Brussels and includes 500 large US companies and 2,800 European corporations, adding that it is considered one of the largest assemblies of private business corporations in the world.
