Egypt carries out national programme for technological development

Prime Minister Atef Ebeid said that Egypt, under the leadership of President Hosni Mubarak, plans and carries out, with sincere determination, a national programme for technological development and the use of science to develop the sector of production and services.
In an address to the inaugural session of the National Conference to Develop Higher and University Education, Ebeid said that the Ministry of Higher Education has responded to Mubarak's call and submitted proposals to prepare the coming generations to paricipate in building the country.
Minister of Higher Education and Minister of State for Scientific Research Moufid Shihab said that the conference aims at giving a push forward to higher education in order to face the great chllenges of the new age of the information revolution and communications.
An exhibition will be held on the sidelines of the conference where the cabinet Information and Decision-Support Centre, the Information Technology Insitute and several private companies will take part.
