Egypt, Politics, 2/14/2000
Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa newly emphasized Egypt's stable stance that the Israeli assault against Lebanon complicated the peace process.
In answering reporters' questions yesterday Moussa said that continuing the Israeli assault on Lebanon will severely harm stability in Middle East and chances for peace.
In answering a question concerning the communications Egypt held with the USA regarding these Israeli assaults, Moussa said, "Egypt is holding communications with the USA besides those held with a large number of the concerned countries which interfere in this subject."
Moussa also stated that, "The issue is not stopping the assaults only but stopping these Israeli behaviors and policies."
Moussa also asked the Israeli foreign minister the necessity of stopping these behaviors and policies saying that current conditions are due to Israeli occupation.
