Message from Yemeni president to his Iranian counterpart

Iranian President Muhammad Khatami received a message from Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh on Sunday in Tehran. The message was handed over to President Khatami during his meeting with the Yemeni ambassador to Tehran, Abdullah Ali al-Radi.

During the meeting, the Yemeni president indicated the historical ties linking the two countries and the role played by Iranian experts and engineers in carrying out key projects in Yemen, including the international airport in Yemen. The Iranian president expressed Iran's desire to develop and strengthen relations with Yemen in all walks of life.

Meanwhile, the Yemeni ambassador in Tehran expressed his hope that the forthcoming visit by Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh would help further strengthen bilateral relations.
