Bouteflika confers with Saudi officials
Saudi Arabia-Algeria, Politics, 2/14/2000

Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika on Sunday in Riyadh received at his residence Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal.

The two sides discussed issues of concern to the two countries, especially bilateral relations.

In a statement following his meeting with the Algerian president, the Saudi foreign minister described Saudi-Algerian relations as excellent.

He expressed his hope that that visit of the Algerian president to Saudi Arabia will yield a further increase of cooperation relations between the two countries in various areas and in the service of Arab and Islamic issues.

The Saudi FM added that prospects for cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Algeria are vast and open, stressing that Saudi Arabia is in favor of all efforts aiming at unifying Arab ranks.

Moreover, at his residence, the Algerian president also met with the emir of the district of Riyadh, Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, to discuss bilateral relations as well as issues of mutual concern.
