3.77 billion LE in transfers from Egyptians abroad

The total amount of banking transfers from Egyptians working abroad reached 3.77 LE during 1999.
This came in a report by the Egyptian Ministry of Manpower today that assured the existence of financial contributions from Egyptians abroad to investment projects, yet the statement did not include the value of these contributions.
It said the Egyptian government is making a database concerning the Egyptians working abroad-- whether in the Gulf area, Europe, the USA, Canada or Australia-- to benefit from those Egyptians as well as to help solve the problems facing them relating to labor and citizenship laws and cultural adjustment, as well as providing Arabic language education to their children.
