Palestinian minister hopes to hold direct talks with Israel
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 2/12/2000

Palestinian Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Nabil Amro stated that his country wants to move to the stage holding direct negotiations with Israel concerning the final status, instead of going on in the discussions concerning reaching an agreement framework for this settlement.

Amro told ArabicNews.com today that, "The Palestinian president held communications with high-ranking Arab, European and US officials in order to practice pressure on Israel to implement the signed agreements with Palestine."

Amro accused Israel of trying to destroy the area to turn it to what it was before 1973 and said Israel does not want to live in peace but that it likes anxiety around it, yet the Palestinians still adhere to a just and comprehensive peace.
