Honoring Fayrouz in the Arab festival song in Cairo

The administration of Cairo festival for the Arab song that will be held in Cairo in May decided to honor four musicians, poets and singers: Sayed Darwish, who is considered among the most prominent musicians who led movement of the Arab music development at the beginning of the 20th century, famous Syrian poet Nizar Qabbani, Algerian singer Warda and Lebanon's Fayrouz.
A statement issued by the festival's administration today said that cassette tapes were made for each of the honored artists that include some of their distinguished works and that Warda will sing in the opening celebration while Fayrouz will sing at the conclusion of the festival that will be held in the Egyptian Opera House.
