Moroccan economic operators in Singapore in March

A delegation of Moroccan economic operators will pay a visit to Singapore next March 23 through 25 to explore partnership opportunities.

preparations for the visit were discussed at a meeting in Rabat between visiting special envoy of Singapore's prime minister, M.T. Jesudasen and Moroccan minister of industry trade and handicraft, Alami Tazi.

A seminar on Moroccan economy will be held on the occasion and the federation of the chambers of commerce, industry and services of Morocco will sign with peer in Singapore a cooperation accord, a statement by the ministry of industry, trade and handicraft said.

Bilateral trade amounts to some $ 20 million (200 million DH). Morocco imports from the Asian country radio and TV sets, plastic items and chemical products and exports drugs and textile items.

Morocco-Singapore cooperation in the realm of tourism was reviewed at a meeting between Jesudasen and Moroccan minister of tourism, Hassan Sebbar.

Both sides stressed the need to upgrade cooperation in the sector and to organize joint promotion campaigns to market their tourism product.

The possibility to market the Morocco bound in Singapore, Malaysia and China was equally discussed.

Singapore and Malaysia are both part of ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) which also groups Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Brunei, Bermania, Cambodia and Philippines.

ASEAN countries have recently decided to jointly market their region as tourism destination as of next year.
