Benaissa flies to Bangkok to attend UNCTAD X conference

Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Mohamed Benaissa heads this Thursday to Bangkok to attend the UNCTAD X conference to be hosted by the Thai capital February 12 through 19.
Benaissa, who is the chairman of the 9th ministerial conference of the group 77 " China-- and as such chairman of the group preparatory committee to the conference-- has recently called the group member countries to foster cohesion of their stands, in the prospect of the UNCTAD X conference and to contribute to the success of this first conference of the new century that will debate economic and development-related issues. On the sidelines of the conference, Benaissa will meet several senior U.N officials, including U.N secretary general Kofi Annan and the secretary general of UNCTAD (U.N conference on trade and development), Ribens Ricupero, a statement by the foreign department said.
He will also meet his peers from a number of Asian countries.
The Moroccan delegation to the Bangkok conference will be led by Premier Abderrahmane Youssoufi.
