Radi denounces denigration of Morocco in European Parliament
Morocco-European Union, Politics, 2/10/2000

The raising up of the Sahara issue on a regular basis in the European Parliament by some MPs is no accident but part of a systematic disparagement program meant to run down Morocco and uphold Polisario claims, said the speaker of the House of Representatives Abdelouahed Radi.

In a dinner hosted in honor of visiting Nicole Fontaine, the president of the European Parliament, Radi recalled how the kingdom cooperated fully with the United Nations and how the identification process strayed from the agreed settlement plan depriving tens of thousands of genuine Sahrawis from their right to be on voting lists of the referendum.

Morocco which abides by international law will not, however, accept the consultation as fair and regular if appeals by all Sahrawis are not taken into account, he said.
