Washington, Paris call for understanding committee meeting, Israel continues air raids wounding six civilians

The Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday continued their brutal aggressions against Lebanon. The Israeli heavy artillery bombarded several Lebanese areas in the South and the Bekaa until the city of Tyre, while the Israeli warplanes launched some 11 raids against South Lebanese areas and targeted residential areas. The bombardment resulted in damaging several houses and wounding six citizens.

For its part, the Lebanese national resistance stressed its rejection to the Israeli occupation and its determination to resist until all south Lebanon is liberated. It stressed commitment to the April Understanding and the need of convening an urgent meeting for the April committee on the background of the recent Israeli aggressions against Lebanon.

Meantime, Washington and Paris called for convening this urgent meeting today to deal with recent developments following the large-scale Israeli aggressions against Lebanese services projects and the infrastructure and France has shown its rejection to any amendments in the provisions of the understanding.

On Wednesday evening the Israeli warplanes expanded its raids against South Lebanese area. Lebanese security sources said that the Israeli planes carried out between 7:15 and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday three raids against the areas of Khillet al-Matahin situated between Zouter East and Qaqeyet al-Jesr in the central sector.

The sources added the Israeli planes dropped at least 13 missiles against the region and the Lebanese army and national resistance anti- aircraft missiles intercepted these Israeli raiding planes.

Lebanese security sources said the Israeli planes targeted in its raids Wadi al-Hajir and the surrounding area and dropped several air-to ground missiles.

Earlier the Israeli warplanes launched three raids against the areas of the western Bekaa, East Lebanon, targeted Jabal al-Daher and Ein al-Samaheyeh district.

The raiding Israeli planes targeted the hills overlooking Zamraya crossing and the al-Hasbani basin in the eastern sector.

In retaliation, the Lebanese national resistance attacked the Israeli occupation position in al-Azeyeh inside the occupied part of South Lebanon. Lebanese resistance sources said that direct hits were achieved.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Lebanese national resistance men machine gunned and rocketed a position for the Israeli occupation in Sheyar Aza in the occupied part of South Lebanon and direct and precise hits were achieved.
