Report: Israel sends a warning message to Syria

Sources close to Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak have revealed to the Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Am on Tuesday that Israel had conveyed a severe message to Damascus following the killing of one of its soldiers recently in the occupied part of south Lebanon, so as to be the last warning message for Syria.

The sources added that the message which was conveyed through the US places the responsibility for the recent weeks' events took place in Lebanon on the Syrians and told the Syrians that if they do not put all their weight and pressure to control the Hizbullah then they have to understand they will be obliged to pay a heavy price, adding that this escalation will negatively affect the bilateral negotiations.

The Kuwaiti paper quoted an Israeli security and political source as saying that the Israeli government has no intention of sitting hand-tightened and that it is not ready to let the situation to continue collapsing.
