President of Italy to visit Egypt next week

Italian President Carlo Azeglio Ciampi and his wife are to begin a three-day visit to Cairo in middle of this month, during which Ciampi will be received by Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Egyptian officials topped by Prime Minsiter Atef Ebeid and the ministers of economy, planning, culture, tourism, health, education, transportation and communication.

Mubarak and Champi will discuss the developments in Middle East, revitalizing the cooperation among the countries of the Mediterranean Sea basin and establishing new corporations for the European - Mediterranean, Arab - Mediterranean and Afro - Mediterranean cooperation.

According to a statement issued by the Italian embassy in Cairo, the Italian president will visit Luxor for the opening of Nefertari cemetery, which Italy repaired during the last two years.
