Annan deplores Israeli attack on Lebanon

United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan "deplores the Israeli air attacks against civilian targets in Lebanon. He is deeply concerned at the escalation of the hostilities," a statement issued yesterday by Annan's spokesman said. The statement called for restraint on the part of all parties.
