Saudi, Italian ministers held press conference

Saudi Minister of Finance and National Economy Ibrahim al-Assaf has described the results of his talks with Italian Foreign Minister Lamberto Dini in the framework of the joint Saudi-Italian committee which concluded its works in Riyadh on Tuesday as very successful, adding that the talks dealt with all aspects of bilateral relations between the two countries.
In a joint press conference al-Assaf held with Dini in Riyadh he said that it was agreed between the two sides to find means of increasing the volume of trade exchange and investment opportunities between the two countries. He indicated the mechanism agreed on cooperation and benefiting from the Italian experience in the areas of medium and small industries.
The Saudi minister said, "We will seek to increase cooperation in the electronic trade area," adding that there are some 54 Italian investment projects in Saudi Arabia in the industrial and construction sectors.
For his part, the Italian minister said that it was agreed to set up a committee for following up the work progress operation for what had been agreed on during the meetings of the joint committee. The Italian minister stated that signing a minutes of meeting for political consultation coordination on Monday with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal is considered complementary to the cycle of cooperation between the two countries.
