Syrian Muslim Brothers media office in Amman closed off
Syria-Jordan-International, Politics, 2/9/2000

The general observer for the Muslim brothers in Syria Sheikh Ali Sader eddine al-Bayanouni has said in an interview with the BBC on Tuesday that his movement which opposes Syria had closed its media office in Amman three months ago and transferred its activities to London in light of the improvement of relations between Syria and Jordan.

Al-Bayanouni added that the decision to transfer the media activities of the Muslim Brothers away from Amman came for self-imposed reasons and that had nothing to do with demands made by the Jordanian authorities. He stated that the Syrian Muslim Brothers had chosen to have their media leave Jordan after they felt the improvement in the Jordanian- Syrian atmospheres.

He indicated that the Muslim Brothers movement decided to convene a session of its Shoura council in Baghdad this week for the second time during six months in order to embarrass Jordan.
