Increase of 13% in tourists coming to Tunis

Tunisian governmental statements showed an increase of 13% in the number of tourists coming to Tunis this past year as it reached 5.915 million tourists in comparison to 5.218 million in 1998 and that the number of tourists coming from Europe has increased by 14.9% to reach 3.381 million in comparison to 3.011 million in 1998.
The German tourists topped the list of European visitors as they numbered 1.036 million for an increase of 72.2%, while tourists from Morocco decreased by 19.6%. The total volume of Tunisian tourism reached $1.523 billion US during the last year.
