English teachers hold annual meeting
Regional-Morocco, Education, 2/8/2000

Moroccan English Teachers Association will hold its annual conference in Kenitra (40 km north of Rabat) from March through April 3, with participation of specialists from the Arab states, United States and Great Britain.

The conference themed "reform of education: role of English language" comes to enrich the ongoing debate in Morocco on education reforms, the Association said. A new education system will be enforced starting the 2000-2001 academic year.

Discussions will focus on training and continuous training of teachers, education methods, role of students in language learning, textbooks and English teaching.

Practical proposals on English teaching, in particular and other languages in general, will also be made during the meeting.
