King Mohammed inaugurates several projects in Casablanca

King Mohammed VI inaugurated Monday several socioeconomic projects in Casablanca before traveling to Marrakesh.
In the Casablanca harbor, he attended the maiden trip of two rescue vedettes and six rescue motorboats. The two larger units are meant for high-sea rescue operations and provide a wide array of services such as first aid and resuscitation, fighting fires on board of sailing vessels and assistance to ships in distress.
The king earlier handed apartment keys to people who suffered from the floods in the Boujdour neighborhood in 1996. 250 families are thus relocated as beneficiaries of the first phase of the housing project made up of 638 apartments 673 shops and other commercial and social facilities.
The king also inaugurated the city second main sewer worth 18 million USD which helps alleviate the odor and prevent flooding in winter season in Bouchentouf area and neighboring downtown main avenues. The new underground facility, to collect flows from four sewers, will be discharging at 45 cubic meters per second.
