Israeli FM in Tunisia

Israeli Foreign Minister David Levy on Monday met with the Tunisian minister of state for foreign affairs, Taher al-Sayoud, who started a visit to Israel on Sunday.
According to Israeli Radio, Levy reviewed for the Tunisian minister developments in south Lebanon and threatened that Israel will deal with this issue but without relating it to the Middle East peace process and that Israel will also decide when and how it will react to what has been taking place there.
Concerning talks on the Syrian- Israeli track Levy said that Israel had drawn the lines it finds suitable for it, in remarks that Israel wants to impose its conditions towards the peace process.
On the negotiations on the Palestinian track Levy asserted what he called the Israeli interests which he added that Israel "will not give up."
Al-Sayoud said that Israeli- Tunisian relations are proceeding gradually and according to developments of the peace process in the region.
As for developments in south Lebanon, al-Sayoud expressed his regret over what is taking place there, noting the need to reconsider the reasons behind this escalation and settle it in the course of the Middle East peace process.
