One leader of armed group killed in Algeria

The Algerian security forces have killed one leader of the Armed Islamic Group (GIA) and several of his members in the Algerian district of Um al-Bawaqi.
The Algerian daily al-Khabar said on Monday that inhabitants of several villages in Jejil district were attacked by the GIA which broke into several houses and stole their properties.
For its part, the Algerian daily al-Youm said that the armed groups kidnapped three citizens at a train station in Tizi Ouzou province.
