Tunisian president confers with Vedrine

Tunisian President Zine al-Abidin Ben Ali met on Monday in Tunis with French Foreign Minister Hubert Vedrine, currently visiting Tunisia.
The two sides reviewed bilateral relations and matters of mutual concern especially the situations in the Mediterranean region, Tunisia's relations with Europe, issues pertaining to the Arab Maghreb and current issues.
In a statement following the meeting, the French minister described his country's relations with Tunisia as rich, good and very constructive and positive, saying that relations between the two countries are developing in an atmosphere of a spirit of friendship.
Earlier in the day, Vedrine met with his Tunisian counterpart, Habib Ben Yahia, and discussions dealt with multifaceted bilateral relations and the prospects of developing them.
