WB lauds Egypt's educational programs
Egypt-World Bank, Economics, 2/7/2000

During his Saturday meeting with Minister of Education Hussein Kamel Bahaa Eddine, Head of the World Bank (WB) expressed the Bank's appreciation of the success of Egypt's educational reform programs.

He further described the success as "tangible," voicing the Bank's keenness on promoting cooperation with Egypt in the fields of technology and education.

On another plane, the Minister of Education said after his meetings with US officials in Washington, that the agreements concluded within the framework of Mubarak-Gore Initiative will be implemented, particularly in the fields of education and human development.

Bahaa Eddine added that during the meetings of the fourth committee on education working within the framework of the Initiative, the American side stressed the importance of improving education and training in Egypt on the threshold of the 21st century.
