International women association opens north African branch in Morocco

An international organization specialized in extending services to women "Soroptimist" has opened a Maghreban branch, based in Marrakesh.
This is Soroptimist's second office in North Africa, after that of Egypt.
A general assembly was held recently in Marrakesh with the participation of 300 representatives of the four federations in America and Europe.
The Marrakesh club will be endeavoring to promote social conditions of women, develop friendship and unity between the organization members throughout the world. One of its first projects is to set up a center to give literacy courses to women and hold education and entertainment activities for children in the rural world.
Soroptimist was set up in 1921 in Oakland, USA.
