Central Council for the Palestinian liberation organization assures need for state declaration

The Palestinian liberation organization decided in concluding meetings of its central council that "declaring the independent Palestinian state - with Jerusalem as capital - will take place on the deadline in September."

The council said that "declaring this state was delayed more than once according to the Israeli government's requests till reaching the final status agreement and the division according to UN resolution 181 for year 1947 - could be implemented, yet the Israeli government's maneuvers will make it loose its credibility, therefore it will be the Palestinian government's right to declare the state whose declaration was much delayed."

On the other hand, Palestinian sources assured that the reasons of the Palestinian - Israeli summit's failure between Arafat and Barak on last Thursday was due to clashes with Israel's attempts to change the peace "Geography" with the Palestinians and Barak's proposals among which there a lack of a geographical interconnect (between the two Palestinians areas) as it obstructs all serious talks in reaching an agreement concerning the final settlement or the refugees' return as well as Jerusalem's return.
