Egypt, Judicial, 2/5/2000

The Egyptian government decided to call back nearly 110 former judges whose ages vary between 65 to 83 years to head the reconciliation and civil disputes committees among individuals and the different parties on one side and the government on another.

Farouk Seif El-Nesrana, the Egyptian justice minister asserted that resorting to this method is due to the increase in the judicial disputes between the government and the individuals to thousands of cases that are before the Egyptian judiciary currently.

He said that these committees will only issue recommendation to the conflicted parts and it is up to each part to take or leave it, referring that the average of the cases that will be considered by every committee will reach 23 monthly.
