Arab inter-trade committees ends talks in Cairo
Regional, Economics, 2/4/2000

The meetings of the 26th session of the inter-Arab trade committee were concluded in Cairo on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Jordan.

An official source at the economic division of the Arab League said that this committee, which is one of the committees of the Greater Arab Free Trade Zone, dedicated its meetings to discussing means of dealing with taxes and fees of similar impact in the framework of the free trade zone.

However, a study proposed by the Arab Monetary Fund in the meetings which lasted for two days indicated that principles and rules stated in the executive program of the free trade zone should be implemented in regard to dealing with national commodities in the "member states" concerning the rules of the origin and other specifications.
