International human rights official to visit Khartoum

Leonard Franco, an international observer for human rights, will arrive in Khartoum in the middle of the current month in the framework of his periodic program to see the humanitarian situation and the progress achieved in this field.
The official will discuss the developments concerning slavery in Sudan and exchanging children and the kidnapped as well pushing the children into the battles between the government and the opposition.
Sudanese sources said today that Franco informed the Sudanese government of the importance of reforming Sudan's relations with neighboring countries and exchanging the children and the kidnapped, adding that Sudan is among the countries which are accused of violating human rights.
