Woman appointed as boss of Jordanian radio

The Jordanian Cabinet on Wednesday appointed Feryal al-Zamakhashari as chairperson of the Jordanian radio. She is the second Jordanian woman to be appointed within less than one year to chair an official media department.
The decision taken to appoint al-Zamakhshari (55) came during a meeting held on Tuesday evening, during which it was also approved to appoint Abdul Halim Arabeyat as a chairman for the Jordanian television.
Suzan Affaneh was appointed by the end of 1999 as a chairperson for the Jordanian TV Satellite station and she has kept her former post as chief political correspondents in the TV.
