One SLA man killed in south Lebanon, aggressions continue
Lebanon-Israel, Military, 2/3/2000

A source close to the pro-Israeli South Lebanon Army militia in the occupied part of south Lebanon said on Wednesday that one militia member was killed and several others wounded on Tuesday evening by an explosive charge planted by the Lebanese national resistance in the occupied part of south Lebanon.

Further reports from south Lebanon said the Israeli occupation forces continued their attacks against areas adjacent to the occupied part of south Lebanon.

Lebanese security sources said the Israeli artillery bombarded on Wednesday the outskirts of Kafra, Yater, Zibqin and Majdal Zoune.

Meanwhile, an Israeli gunboat mopped up the southern coast of Qaleylah in Tyre district. Israeli warplanes also broke the sound barrier over the Lebanese capital, Beirut. The reports added that Israeli warplanes continued their sorties into Lebanese airspace, especially over Tyre and Bint Jbeil.

Other news reports from south Lebanon said clashes erupted on Monday afternoon among the pro-Israeli SLA militia in al-Naqoura town. The reports added that the clashes, which lasted for more an hour, took place after militiaman Yousef al-Masri refused to obey the orders of his leader to head to one of the positions on the front. The clashes involved all the family of al-Masri and the militia's leadership in the town.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Lebanese resistance forces attacked two military positions of the Israeli occupation forces and the SLA militia in the locations of Qassir and al-Salaa inside the occupied part of south Lebanon.

A statement released by the resistance said the resistance forces rocketed and machine-gunned the two positions, which were directly hit, and several detachments were destroyed.

Meanwhile, the Israeli warplanes raided the al-Tuffah district overlooking the occupied zone. Lebanese security sources said the planes raided the area of Hajeir valley and dropped missiles there.
