Bouteflika gets message from President Clinton

Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika on Wednesday in Algiers received the US under secretary of state in charge of Middle East and North Africna affairs, Edward Walker, who is also the special envoy for US President Bill Clinton.
In his message the US president expressed his hope of establishing bilateral cooperation with Algeria with the objective of fighting terrorism.
The US president said in his message, which was announced on Wednesday, that he has hopes of establishing increasing bilateral cooperation with the objective of confronting those who want to "harm our citizens and attack violently our political systems."
President Clinton asserted his backing to President Bouteflika in his efforts aiming at fighting terrorism in the context of honoring the "state of the law."
The US president added that Algeria is getting away gradually from its crisis through encouraging the process of peaceful political alternatation, addressing President Bouteflika as saying, "We support your efforts in this direction."
President Clinton concluded his message as saying: "Whilst you carry on your action in this direction, we are delighted to expand our joint efforts in order to promote peace and prosperity for the American and Algerian people."
