USD 283 million US dollars Italian investment in Egypt

The second round of Egyptian-Italian economic talks has enabled Egypt to obtain investments totaling $ 283 million over the coming three years. The two sides highlighted the importance of Egyptian-Italian cooperation in relation to economic development in Egypt through the current projects at a total cost of $300 million.

A program of Italian aid to Egypt that includes $18 million in soft loans for supporting the major sectors of small and medium companies , protecting environment, and using high technology has been signed.

At the level of bilateral relation, the volume of trade exchange between the two countries during the first nine months of the past year rose by 6.4% of the figure of the same period in 1998. The Italian investment in Egypt , particularly on the part of small and medium companies to sustain the efforts exerted by Egypt in this respect.
