Nine stripped of Kuwaiti citizenship for their cooperation with Iraq
Kuwait, Politics, 2/2/2000
Nine persons were stripped of their Kuwaiti citizenship, including two government officers, after being accused of cooperating with the Iraqi authorities during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990. The Kuwaiti newspaper al-Watan said yesterday that among those nine persons are five people who had acquired Kuwaiti citizenship, while the other four were originally Kuwaitis.
It said this decision was taken according to report presented by the Kuwaiti interior minister as head of the supreme committee for granting the citizenship.
