Yemeni president in Brussels

Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh arrived in Brussels on Tuesday for a three-day visit to Belgium, during which he will hold talks on "regional and international developments of mutual concern." With high-ranking officials at the headquarters of the European Union and the Belgian government.
In a pre-departure statement in Sanaa, President Saleh stressed that his country welcomes "European investment in the areas of oil, gas and minerals or in the domains of energy, tourism, industry and agriculture."
The Yemeni president, who is accompanied by his foreign minister, Abdul Qader Bajmal, continued, "We, in Yemen, and in the Arab homeland in general appreciate the effective backing made by Europe in the past and might give in this phase in giving the Middle East peace process a push forward."
