SLA official and the killing of Aqel

The commander of the eastern sector in the pro-Israel South Lebanon Army militia, Col. Nabih Abu Rafe has ruled out that soldiers from the SLA collaborated with the Hizbullah in the operation in which Aqel Hashem was killed.

In a statement to the Israeli Fadio on Monday Abu Rafe said that the Hizbullah operation (in killing Aqel) is considered a violation of every understanding because it has taken the war into the villages and houses of the civilians.

He claimed that Syria is behind every military operation taking place in Lebanon and that Hizbullah is only the instrument for that.

Concerning negotiations between Syria and Israel, Abu Rafe said, "It should not be talked about peace in the morning and about war at night."
