Report: Israel to exchange prisoners and corpses with Palestinians

The Jordanian weekly al-Hadath reported information disclosed by Palestinian opposition sources that expected the possibility of a nearby release of more than 1,500 Palestinian and Arab prisoners from the Israeli jails for the release of an Israeli pilot held in Iran since 1987 and transporting the bodies of three Israeli soldiers killed in al-Sultan Battle in south Lebanon in 1982.

The Jordanian weekly added that the negotiations are being made at the present under German patronage and with the participation of several regional sides which are in the framework of the conflict, including Iran, Israel, Syria, Hizbullah and the Palestinian government, adding that Jordan will join these negotiations at a later stage if the current talks reach an advanced stage enabling them to find fundamental solutions to the question of the prisoners.

The paper added that the new development leaked from these negotiations says that the Hamas movement has asked through its representative in Gaza the Palestinian government a list in the names of all Arab and Palestinian detainees and prisoners in the Israeli occupation jails, adding that this list was transferred to the Lebanese Hizbullah Party, which for its part added it to another list including the names of the Lebanese prisoners in the Israeli jails so as to demand the release of all of them against releasing the missing Israeli pilot, Ron Arad.
