Israel must dismantle its mass destruction weapons

Presidential Political Advisor Osama Al-Baz made clear that Egypt will work, after reaching a peace settlement in the Middle East, for setting up a better system of cooperation among the Arab states. "The system would prevent any aggression on any Arab country," he added.

He also affirmed that Egypt will seriously endeavor to settle disputes between the Arab states and remove the consequences resulted from those disputes.

He affirmed that after realizing peace in the Middle East, Egypt will ask Turkey to reconsider its alliance with Israel and will also work for freeing the Mideast of all weapons of mass destruction. He also said that Egypt plays a leading role in the Middle East in account of some reasons,the most important of which is its solid social fabric that consists of Muslims and Copts. Baz condemned the current attempts to spark a sectarian sedition affirming that the Egyptian people is one people and that religion is for God and the homeland for all the people.

Baz affirmed that Egypt which is still playing its role in the Middle East peace process, had not abandoned the Palestinian issue even after signing a peace agreement with Israel.

Concerning the latest development in peace talks on the Syrian track, he pointed out that the Syrian attitude is based on international legitimacy, the UN Security Council's Resolutions 242 and 338 as well as the "land-for-peace" formula.

He expected that Syria and Arab states will adopt the Egyptian model in dealing with Israel, the model which is based on peace relationships. He said that the Syrian stand in negotiations is based on international legitimacy and Madrid Conferences, principles affirming that the Syria negotiate as it is strong, not weak. He added that Egypt is not a mediator.

He pointed out that Egypt will work with the Arab countries to adopt a unified stance so as to safeguard their interests.

"Egypt will work for achieving the Arab solidarity," he added.

Baz also affirmed that the Egyptian individual is always qualified and capable of coping with technological progress and always capable of creating and constructing.

He also affirmed that the Egyptian armed forces qualify Egypt to play a major role in the post -settlement phase , and grow with a view to preserving our national sovereignty and security locally and regionally. He also affirmed that the Egyptian military power will not be used in attacking any country and that Egypt develop this power to preserve peace and balance in the Middle East.
