African 2006 candidates should meet basic requirements

The international football federation FIFA president Sepp Blatter said the two African candidates to host the 2006 World Cup " should meet basic requirements."
Blatter told TV5 Africa should be trusted and given the opportunity to stage FIFA's major event in keeping with the rotation principle.
Every and each country has to the right to bid and since ours is a democratic body we will vote to select one of the five candidates, he said insisting he never voiced preference for one single country but supported Africa for 2006 event.
The FIFA executive committee will cast votes to elect the host of the event out of five countries competing for the honor: Morocco, South-Africa, England, Germany and Brazil.
