Morocco-Libya, Economics, 1/31/2000
Morocco and Libya agreed to consolidate cooperation relations in maritime fisheries through exchange of visits, data and scientific research.
Moroccan fishery minister Thami Khyari, who visited Libya Jan.25-27, signed with his Libyan counterpart an agreement to enhance sea-fisheries, promote aquaculture and consider joint investments in exploitation of sea-resources.
The agreement also provides for trade exchanges and trade of know-how in processing industry and ship upkeep and repair.
The kingdom which passed similar agreements with Egypt and Tunisia will be hosting the seat of the Arab organization for fishery information exchange.
