King Mohammed sends message to Mauritanian president
Mauritania-Morocco, Politics, 1/31/2000

King Mohammed VI has sent a message to President of Mauritania, Mouaouiyia Ould Sidi Ahmed Tayaa.

The royal message will be conveyed by speaker of the chamber of advisors (upper house of the Moroccan parliament) Jalal Essaid who started Sunday a four-day visit to Mauritania heading a parliamentary delegation.

Essaid told reporters upon arrival the visit is part of efforts to consolidate relations between the two states and to build up the Arab Maghreb.

The Moroccan delegation will confer with several Mauritanian officials and MPs on means to consolidate common action, and promote cooperation between legislative branches at the bilateral and maghreban levels.

Morocco and Mauritania are both member of the Arab Maghreb Union that also musters Algeria, Libya and Tunisia.
