His colleagues killed an extremist Algerian leader

Algerian sources in Cairo stated today that the chief of two main extremist groups in the country that are fighting the government was killed by his followers, who oppose the peace talks which he called with the authorities.
The sources added that Hassan Hattab, chief of the El-Daewa and Jihad groups, was killed last week by his colleague after a dispute with three leaders in his group.
The sources also said that Hattab was killed near Khodairiah area in Bouira state 90 kilometers east of Algiers.
The bases of El-Hattab's main group are in Bouira and Tizi Ouzou, where the group killed in an ambush members of the governmental forces and men of the government's local militias during the two last years.
