Oman voices backing for Sudanese president

Oman has expressed backing for decisions taken by Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir on December 12, 1999.
Omani Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Youssef Bin Alawi Bin Abdullah stressed at the conclusion of a meeting held between Sultan Qaboos Bin Said and al-Bashir on Sunday in Muscat that "Oman backs the steps taken by President al-Bashir."
Al-Bashir, who had arrived on Saturday in Muscat on a three-day official visit, announced on December 12, 1999 a three-month state of emergency in Sudan and the dissolition of the parliamnet which is led by Hassan Turabi.
